The automotive landscape is set to be redefined with the introduction of the Mazda CX-70, Mazda’s latest offering in the mid-size crossover SUV segment. This vehicle combines Mazda’s renowned driving dynamics with a spacious and luxurious interior, designed specifically to cater to the North American market. The CX-70 is poised to make its mark with its advanced features and electrified powertrains.
The highly anticipated 2025 Mazda CX-70 is set to hit the markets with select models available from Spring 2024. The vehicle will be offered in several configurations, starting at a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $40,445 for the CX-70 3.3 Turbo Preferred. The range extends to the CX-70 PHEV Premium Plus, which will be available at $57,450. An additional destination and handling charge of $1,455 applies, with a slight increase to $1,500 for Alaska residents.
The CX-70 boasts a sporty exterior design complemented by an array of color options including the striking Soul Red Crystal Metallic and the new Melting Copper Metallic. The interior does not skimp on luxury, offering options such as a tan interior with two-tone accents and a red interior option inspired by the 100th anniversary edition MX-5 sports car. Standard features across the CX-70 range include Alexa Built-in for enhanced connectivity and convenience, as well as innovative remote-folding rear seats to optimize cargo space.
Under the hood, the CX-70 offers three electrified powertrain options. These include two variants of the e-Skyactiv G 3.3L Inline 6 Turbo with a 48-volt M-Hybrid Boost, and the e-Skyactiv PHEV. All powertrains are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and come standard with i-Activ all-wheel drive. The vehicle also features Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive), which allows the driver to choose between Sport, Off-Road, and Towing or EV modes, enhancing the driving experience tailored to different needs.
The CX-70 is equipped with Mazda’s i-Activsense safety features, which include Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control among others. The vehicle also introduces new technologies such as the Cruising & Traffic Support, which helps manage acceleration, braking, and steering in traffic conditions. Additionally, the CX-70 is the first Mazda model to feature an Emergency Lane Keeping system that helps prevent roadway departures and collisions with surrounding vehicles.
In a move to support the growing number of electric vehicles, Mazda has partnered with Qmerit, a leading provider of home electric vehicle charger installation services. This partnership ensures that CX-70 PHEV owners have access to reliable home charging solutions, enhancing the overall ownership experience.
The Mazda CX-70 is set to offer a compelling mix of style, performance, and technology. With its range of powertrains, advanced safety features, and luxurious design, the CX-70 is designed to meet the diverse needs of modern drivers and their families, making it a standout option in the competitive mid-size SUV market.
