Meagan Good is exasperated with the critics who constantly scrutinize her relationship with Jonathan Majors and how it’s perceived in the public eye.

On Thursday (July 11), a video went viral featuring her co-star from The Intruder and friend, Michael Ealy, energetically hugging her. In the video, which circulated widely, it seemed like Ealy completely ignored Majors, who was standing nearby, and only interacted with Good alongside D Smoke and his wife, Angelina Sherie.

Good addressed the situation in the comments section of The Shade Room. She clarified that Ealy and Majors had indeed “exchanged a big hug first,” aiming to quash any rumors and the ensuing controversy.

“So we’re just gonna edit out the first part of the video where Jonathan and Michael exchange a big hug first and then speak life over each other — ‘before’ he gives me a big brother hug?” she wrote, adding, “Lol smh super unfortunate how people don’t have anything better to do than project on others and intentionally perpetuate negative misguided commentary on life snippets they have no real context to. It’s sad. Sigh. But still, God bless yall.”

This incident isn’t the first time Good has had to defend her relationship with Jonathan Majors, an actor who has faced his share of public controversy.

Before this, Good revealed that nearly everyone close to her advised against dating Majors because of potential public backlash.

However, the 42-year-old actress trusts her intuition. Speaking on Today with Hoda and Jenna, she said, “One thing I know is that I can always look in the mirror when I trust my spirit, when I trust God, when I ask God, and when I move to the beat of my own drum. I take everyone I love’s opinion into account for sure, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life. I want to be responsible for the choices I make and want to live the life that I want to live.”
