Medical provider departing Texas due to Attorney General inquiry on gender-affirming care for minors

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton started an investigation into Seattle Children’s Hospital for potentially violating state law by providing such treatments. Texas law prohibits gender transition interventions for minors. Seattle Children’s initially did not comply with document requests and sued Texas. However, an agreement was reached, and Seattle Children’s agreed to stop doing business in Texas to protect patient privacy. The hospital emphasized its commitment to complying with applicable laws and patient confidentiality.
