Meghan Markle Faces Ongoing Ozempic Speculation from Royal Watchers

Meghan Markle has consistently been a prime target for tabloids, facing countless rumors and controversies. The Duchess of Sussex has become well-practiced in ignoring public speculation, whether it’s related to her social connections or alleged feuds. The latest buzz surrounds unfounded claims that Markle has been using Ozempic, a drug known for its weight loss effects, due to her recent weight loss.

Online critics have scrutinized Markle, who remains one of the most polarizing figures on the internet. They argue that her slimmed-down appearance is evidence of Ozempic usage. “Once again Meghan looks like Ozempic Barbie,” a royal watcher commented on social media, referring to images of Markle and Prince Harry on a visit to Columbia. Another individual speculated, “Meghan is using #ozempic to get thin and compete with Catherine.” Unfortunately, some comments also delved into body-shaming. “Meghan has been into the Ozempic a little too much. She has lost all her bust though it was minimal and her limbs are skeletal,” one critic tweeted.

However, not everyone is convinced by these accusations. Dr. Amy Lee, Head of Nutrition for Nucific, cautions that Markle’s weight loss isn’t necessarily indicative of Ozempic usage. Dr. Lee suggests that Markle’s weight changes could simply be a reaction to stress, an area where the Duchess has significant experience.

In a conversation with Nicki Swift, Dr. Amy Lee addressed the circulating rumors, emphasizing the difficulty in deducing someone’s diet from mere photos. While several celebrities have openly used Ozempic for weight loss, it doesn’t place Markle in the same category.

“It is difficult to say if Meghan Markle was or is on Ozempic. Images seen can be a product of rapid weight loss, which can be achieved by dropping weight faster than 0.5-1 lb/week,” Dr. Lee noted. She also remarked that the so-called ‘Ozempic face’ could appear in individuals who’ve never used the drug. “What people need to realize is that ‘Ozempic face’ can result from any regimen that causes rapid weight loss. Meghan could be undergoing a stressful time, not eating or drinking appropriately, and lost a lot of weight, resulting in her current appearance.”

Markle’s stress isn’t news; reports suggest it is significantly affecting her habits. “She’s stressed, and friends are afraid she could be spiraling,” a source revealed to Life & Style. “When Meghan is stressed, she barely eats. Friends say she’s dropped at least 15 pounds… She doesn’t have an appetite when she’s juggling a lot.”

Regarding Markle’s changing physique over the years, it might be more related to motherhood than any magical diet pill. Having gone through two pregnancies — with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet — such variations in weight are only natural. Dr. Amy Lee believes Markle’s ability to bounce back quickly post-pregnancy is a testament to her youth and access to premium healthcare.

“If you look up images of Meghan Markle in 2019 vs. 2024, a lot of her pregnancy images pop up which I would say contributes to her ‘fuller’ look. She is still considered to be relatively young so bouncing back from pregnancy is much easier compared to someone who is older,” Dr. Lee told Nicki Swift. She noted Markle likely benefits from expert medical advice on maintaining her health, diminishing the need for shortcuts like Ozempic. “And as for images where she looks a bit more ‘gaunt,’ it can be difficult to attribute it all to the potential use of Ozempic when even being ‘dehydrated’ can make one look like that,” added Dr. Lee.

Perhaps, Markle’s toned appearance is the result of a consistent workout regimen. She has previously expressed her fondness for fitness. “Sometimes the idea of working out sounds absolutely dreadful,” she shared with Women’s Health. “But I always remind myself of how good it will feel afterward.”
