Michael Jackson Achieves Two Top 10 Albums in America

Michael Jackson can always be found on the Billboard charts. Decades after most of his biggest singles came and went, and more than 10 years since his death, the legend’s music continues to stream and sell well enough to keep his name on several lists. This week, he even manages to claim a pair of spots inside the highest tier on the same tally–a feat typically reserved for the hottest stars of today.

On this week’s Top R&B Albums chart, Jackson fills two spots within the top 10. His wins sit back-to-back this time around, and both manage to return to the region after recently sitting just below the loftiest tier.

The Essential Michael Jackson finds its way back to the top 10 on this week’s Top R&B Albums chart. The compilation lifts from No. 11 to No. 9 on the roster, which ranks the most-consumed R&B-only projects in the country.

Just one rung lower comes Jackson’s most successful traditional album. Thriller surges from No. 14 to No. 10, re-entering the uppermost area on the roster.

Both Essential and Thriller have stalled in the same position on the Top R&B Albums chart. The two titles have peaked at No. 2, missing out on giving Jackson an important ruler by just one space. While they may have reached the same spot, their tenure on the tally isn’t exactly the same.

Essential has now lived on the Top R&B Albums list for 354 weeks. Meanwhile, Thriller is far more successful, at least when looking at length of time on the tally. That bestseller has now racked up 534 frames on the ranking.

Both Essential and Thriller also appear on at least two other Billboard lists, and they’re climbing everywhere. They can both be found on the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart this time around. Thriller also sold well enough in the past tracking frame to land on the Top Album Sales ranking, where it returns to the top 40 once again.
