Republican Sen. Mike Braun won the Republican nomination for governor of Indiana, with Rep. Jim Banks securing the GOP nomination for Senate. Rep. Victoria Spartz defeated a Republican primary challenger for her House seat. Braun faced tough competition despite Trump’s endorsement. Braun and Doden clashed on support for police and Black Lives Matter. Banks won the GOP primary uncontested and is favored in November. Competitive GOP House primaries also took place. Former Rep. Marlin Stutzman won in the 3rd District. State Sen. Mark Messmer won in the 8th District. Indianapolis City Council member Jefferson Shreve won in the 6th District.
