Morgan Wallen’s Felony Trial Rescheduled for December

The legal proceedings involving Morgan Wallen have encountered a delay. Originally set to appear in court on August 15, Wallen will now face Judge Allegra Walker on December 12 to address four charges related to an alleged chair-throwing incident from earlier this year. This update was first reported by Billboard.

The country music star was apprehended on April 7 following allegations that he threw a chair off the roof of Chief’s, a bar located in downtown Nashville. The chair reportedly landed perilously close to two police officers, prompting the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) to charge Wallen with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after interviewing witnesses.

Details remain unclear regarding which party—Wallen’s legal team or the prosecution—requested the continuation. In his initial court appearance in May, Wallen waived his right to be there in person. His attorney, Worrick Robinson, assured that his client would appear for the August date listed on the General Sessions Court calendar as a trial.

Currently between tour dates, Wallen recently concluded his U.S. leg of the One Night at a Time Tour in Las Vegas. Up next is his European stint, beginning on August 28. His final shows for 2024 are scheduled as a pair of stadium concerts in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 18 and 19.

Despite the delays and ongoing legal troubles, there remains a possibility that the parties might reach a settlement before the court date. Notably, this arrest marks Wallen’s third run-in with the law; however, his previous two arrests were dismissed.
