MP Confirms Arrest of Journalist Carlos Julio Rojas

The Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, confirmed on Monday night the arrest of journalist Carlos Julio Rojas.

He stated that Rojas “had an arrest warrant for his involvement in the assassination attempt against the Head of State Nicolas Maduro, being directly identified as an instigator and logistical operator.”

The assassination attempt mentioned in the Public Ministry’s accusation took place at Plaza Diego Ibarra on March 25, the day Rojas registered as a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.

The progress of the investigation by the Public Ministry will be announced on Tuesday, April 16 at noon.
