Numerous law enforcement officers were shot in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 29, 2024. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department called it an “active situation” and confirmed that a SWAT team was on scene. The exact number of people shot and the severity of their injuries were not immediately known, but multiple officers were taken to the hospital. The incident occurred in the 5000 block of Galway Drive while the U.S. Marshals Task Force was conducting an investigation. North Carolina Gov.
