Mustard Declares No Interest in Collaborating with Drake

The music world witnessed some drama as Mustard expressed his feelings about working with Drake. In a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times, Mustard made it clear that he has no intention of collaborating with Drake again, calling him a “strange guy.”

Despite their past collaboration on YG’s 2014 hit “Who Do You Love?”, the relationship between Mustard and Drake appears strained. The tension intensified following Mustard’s involvement in producing “Not Like Us”, considered one of the most significant diss tracks in hip-hop history. Given these circumstances, a future musical partnership between the two seems highly unlikely.

Adding fuel to the fire, Mustard criticized Drake in a series of tweets earlier this month. On August 2, Mustard launched into a tirade, dubbing Drake the “Malcolm X of White people.” This outburst was partly triggered by Mustard’s belief that Drake influenced his friend, house producer Gordo, to release his new album, Diamante, on the same day as Mustard’s own project, Faith of a Mustard Seed. Mustard insinuated that this was a deliberate attempt to undermine his album’s success.

The saga began when Mustard shared an unconfirmed report indicating that his album Faith of a Mustard Seed moved 18,000 units in its first week. Mustard expressed his gratitude for the sales with a post captioned “Beyond Grateful,” and the hashtag #FOAMS. However, the situation soon escalated when Mustard added a controversial statement, “Album sales are a form of [White] supremacy you ni**as racist.”

This remark drew criticism from fans, prompting Mustard to lash out at Drake for allegedly attempting to sabotage his album release. Mustard’s frustration was evident in his post, where he referred to Drake as the “Malcolm X of [White] people” and mocked DJ Akademiks to ensure Gordo’s first week sales were posted. He further commented, “These drake bots are the Nation of drizzlam,” indicating his belief that Drake’s influence extends to a devoted fanbase intent on overshadowing him.

This back-and-forth marks a significant rift between two prominent figures in the music industry, with Mustard openly expressing his disdain for Drake. The tension between them suggests no reconciliation in the near future, leaving fans to speculate about the underlying reasons for their dispute.
