My Hero Academia Creator Reveals Mirko’s Ideal Type

My Hero Academia has officially come to an exciting conclusion. Alongside this momentous event, the series creator has offered fans an intriguing insight into the personal life of the Rabbit Hero Mirko. Enthusiasts of My Hero Academia have much to rejoice about: after a decade-long run in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga series has wrapped up, and its anime adaptation is reaching a pinnacle with the latest episodes of Season 7 airing this summer. Meanwhile, the franchise’s fourth movie is making waves in theaters across Japan.

The latest film, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, is currently captivating audiences in Japan and is set to hit theaters in the United States and Canada later this fall. In conjunction with the film’s release, Horikoshi shared new and delightful details about the characters in a special booklet available to Japanese fans attending screenings. One of the highlights is a revelation about what qualities Mirko, the formidable Rabbit Hero, seeks in a partner.

As Kohei Horikoshi revealed (and as noted by @aitaikimochii on X), Mirko’s ideal partner is someone even stronger than herself. Considering that Mirko is already a top pro hero with exceptional strength, this might seem an unattainable standard. Given that My Hero Academia isn’t particularly romance-focused, and with some romances remaining unconfirmed by the series’ end, fans might never witness Mirko finding such a match.

My Hero Academia: You’re Next is currently showing in theaters across Japan and will be available in the United States and Canada, both with English subtitles and dubbed audio, starting October 11th.

TOHO Animation provides this teaser for the film:

“‘Next, it’s your turn!’ In a society where heroes and villains continuously battle in the name of peace and chaos, Deku, a U.A. High School student who aspires to be the best hero he can be, confronts the villain who imitates the hero he’s long admired. Can Deku and the rest of U.A. High Class 1-A protect the world by putting an end to Dark Might, the man claiming to be the new Symbol of Peace?”
