Officer Luis Huesca, a 30-year-old Chicago police officer, was shot and killed while driving home from work in the Gage Park neighborhood. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds near his home and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the shooting, including the possibility of a carjacking. Huesca was a six-year veteran of the force and was close friends with another fallen officer. Mayor Brandon Johnson expressed condolences to Huesca’s family and pledged support in apprehending those responsible. A procession was held in Huesca’s honor, and tributes poured in for the dedicated officer.
