NBC Chicago reports Andrew Holmes terminated by Chicago Survivors following assault allegations

A Chicago activist and Dolton trustee known for supporting grieving families at crime scenes has been fired by Chicago Survivors after allegations of assaulting a co-worker. The organization emphasized the importance of trust and safety for the families they serve in their statement. The trustee, Andrew Holmes, is being sued for assault by Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s former assistant, Fenia Dukes. Dukes shared details of the alleged incident during a trip to Las Vegas with Holmes and other leaders. Despite the allegations, Holmes has not commented and there have been calls for his resignation from the Dolton Village Board.
