NBCU Promotes Jeanne Mau to EVP of TV Programming Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

NBCUniversal has promoted Jeanne Mau to Executive Vice President, TV Programming Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, from her previous role as SVP. She continues to report to Pearlena Igbokwe, Chairman of Universal Studio Group, and Frances Berwick, Chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment.

In her expanded position, Mau will oversee the company’s inclusion efforts across its entertainment television portfolio under the NBCU Launch banner. This includes NBCU’s broadcast and cable entertainment networks such as NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen True Crime, SYFY, USA Network, and Universal Kids, as well as the streaming platform Peacock. Additionally, her purview covers the four television studios: Universal Television, UCP, Universal Television Alternative Studio, and Universal International Studios.

Since joining NBCU in 2021 as SVP of TV Programming, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Mau has overseen the creation of the NBCU Launch brand, which unifies the inclusion initiatives across the company’s vast entertainment networks, Peacock, and its television studios.

Mau has rejuvenated NBCU’s talent development programs, including those focused on writers and episodic directors. She also initiated the company’s first significant inclusion programs for unscripted content, such as the NBCU Launch Unscripted Producers Initiative and the NBCU Launch Unscripted Pitch Accelerator.

She has also established new partnerships with non-profit organizations and advocacy groups to enhance inclusivity in the company’s productions and to increase awareness of content among cultural influencers. Among these new partners is Black Beauty Roster, which has been conducting educational training for NBCU creative executives on the on-set needs of actors with textured hair and darker skin tones.

“Over the past three years, Jeanne has systematically expanded and elevated our inclusion efforts in television. She has introduced us to new voices in front of and behind the camera and become an invaluable resource to our showrunners and internal creative teams,” said Igbokwe and Berwick. “We remain committed to our principles, and as we look to the future, Jeanne will continue to play a critical role in our business by supporting our goal of producing compelling content that appeals to global audiences.”
