Netflix Changes ‘That ’90s Show’ Return Date Significantly

Most fans of That ’90s Show have already binged Part 2 following its release on June 27. Originally, the new episodes weren’t expected until October 24. However, Netflix has just made an exciting announcement that changes the wait time significantly.

Netflix has officially moved up the release date of That ’90s Show Part 3, produced as the second half of Season 2, to August 22. This is a full two months earlier than initially planned. Therefore, fans of this sequel to That ’70s Show only have a few more weeks to find out what happens next.

No specific reasons have been given by Netflix for this unexpected date change. The streaming giant has also not revealed whether more seasons of the show will be ordered in the future.

The conclusion of That ’90s Show Part 2 involved a dramatic scene where the Foreman family kitchen was destroyed due to a car crash involving characters played by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. Part 3 is anticipated to delve into how Red Forman (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty Forman (Debra Jo Rupp) will handle the aftermath of this chaotic incident.

That ’90s Show on Netflix is a sequel series to Fox’s hit sitcom That ’70s Show, which aired from 1998 to 2006. In this new series, old favorites Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp return as Red and Kitty Forman. They are joined by a fresh set of teenagers, portrayed by Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Reyn Doi, Sam Morelos, and Maxwell Acee Donovan.

Fans of the original That ’70s Show will appreciate that some original cast members return for guest appearances. This includes Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Tommy Chong, and Don Stark.

The focus of the sequel is primarily on the new group of teenagers, but the lead character, Leia Forman (played by Haverda), is notably the daughter of Eric Forman (Grace) and Donna Pinciotti (Prepon). Leia and her friends find themselves in all sorts of entertaining adventures, staying true to the spirit of the original series. Season 2 of That ’90s Show is being released in two halves. Part 2 has already premiered on June 27, and Part 3 is set to premiere on August 22.
