Netflix’s KAOS Premieres This Summer, Starring Fear the Walking Dead’s Cliff Curtis

Actor Cliff Curtis, known for his role as Travis on Fear the Walking Dead, is set to join Jeff Goldblum in a new Netflix series titled, KAOS.

This modern mythology series centers around Zeus, played by Goldblum. Zeus is portrayed as a powerful yet insecure god who starts to fear the end of his reign upon discovering his first wrinkle. His fears aren’t unfounded as Prometheus, once his friend and now his prisoner, is scheming against him. Meanwhile, three mortals unknowingly entangle themselves with the gods, playing crucial roles in the preservation of the world.

Curtis will take on the character of Poseidon, with David Thewlis joining as Hades, Zeus’ brothers. The cast also features Janet McTeer as Hera, Zeus’ cunning wife, and Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, his rebellious son.

The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Killian Scott as Orpheus, Aurora Perrineau as Riddy, Misia Butler as Caneus, Leila Farzad as Ari, Rakie Ayola as Persephone, and Stanley Townsend as Minos. Furthermore, Billie Piper and Suzy Eddie Izzard will make cameo appearances.

KAOS is slated for its debut on August 29, 2024. Netflix has already shared some first-look images of the series on social media, sparking excitement among fans.

The show was created and written by Charlie Covell, renowned for the YA series *End of the F**ing World, which earned two BAFTAS. The directing team includes Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo, with Harry Munday as the producer. Episode 6 was penned by Georgia Christou. The executive producers list features notable names such as Jane Featherstone, Chris Fry, Katie Carpenter, Banks-Davies, Nine Lederman, Tanya Seghatchian, and John Woodward.

Cliff Curtis is a recognizable face from seasons 1-3 of Fear the Walking Dead, where he played Travis Manawa, a character whose demise in season 3 left many fans disheartened. Curtis’ filmography includes titles like Reminiscence, Murina, Doctor Sleep, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Gang Related, Missing, and Trauma.

He has also portrayed James "Mac" Mackreides in The Meg (2018) and Meg 2: The Trench (2023), and Tonowari in Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), as well as in the forthcoming Avatar films, with the third installment expected in 2025.

Curtis’ upcoming projects include a role in the AppleTV+ Hawaiian historical drama Chief of War, collaboratively created by Thomas Pa’a Sibbett and Jason Momoa, with Momoa also starring and executive producing.

Don’t miss KAOS when it premieres on Netflix on August 29.
