Netflix’s KAOS Series Premieres This Summer with Cliff Curtis from FTWD

Actor Cliff Curtis is celebrated for his diverse roles, especially as Travis on Fear the Walking Dead. This summer, Curtis is set to star alongside Jeff Goldblum in the new Netflix series, KAOS.

The series dives into a modern mythology where Zeus, portrayed by Goldblum, is a powerful yet insecure god. Upon discovering his first wrinkle, Zeus perceives it as the beginning of the end of his reign. This concern isn’t unfounded, as his former friend and current prisoner, Prometheus, is planning to overthrow him. Unbeknownst to three mortals drawn into the gods’ plans, their roles are crucial in saving the world.

Cliff Curtis will take on the role of Poseidon, joining Goldblum’s Zeus and David Thewlis’s Hades. The series also features Janet McTeer as Hera, who is plotting against Zeus, and Nabhaan Rizwan as their rebellious son, Dionysus.

The additional cast includes Killian Scott as Orpheus, Aurora Perrineau as Riddy, Misia Butler as Caneus, Leila Farzad as Ari, Rakie Ayola as Persephone, and Stanley Townsend as Minos. Billie Piper and Suzy Eddie Izzard will appear in cameo roles.

The much-anticipated KAOS is set to debut on Netflix on August 29, 2024. Netflix recently shared first-look images of the series on social media, building excitement for its release.

KAOS is created and written by Charlie Covell, known for the YA series End of the F***ing World, which has won two BAFTAS. The series is directed by Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo and produced by Harry Munday. Georgia Christou wrote episode 6, with Jane Featherstone, Chris Fry, Katie Carpenter, Banks-Davies, Nine Lederman, Tanya Seghatchian, and John Woodward serving as executive producers.

Cliff Curtis is renowned for his portrayal of Travis Manawa in the first three seasons of Fear the Walking Dead. Fans were disappointed when his character was killed off in season 3, as Travis had become a favorite among viewers.

Besides his role in Fear the Walking Dead, Curtis has a vast body of work. He has been part of projects like Reminiscence, Murina, Doctor Sleep, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and Gang Related. He also starred in The Meg (2018) and Meg 2: The Trench (2023), as well as Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and its upcoming sequels, with the next installment slated for release in 2025.

Curtis has been cast in the AppleTV+ historical drama Chief of War, created by Thomas Pa’a Sibbett and Jason Momoa, who also stars and serves as an executive producer.

Fans eagerly await the premiere of KAOS on Netflix on August 29, 2024.
