New Marvel Studios Variant Covers Coming to Marvel Comics

Ryan Meinerding’s art has been pivotal to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the Head of Development at Marvel Studios, Meinerding has designed and conceptualized characters and costumes for films like Iron Man (2008), The Avengers (2012), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Abrams Books, which published “The Story of Marvel Studios” in 2021, will now showcase over 500 images in the new art book “Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding.”

This 320-page book includes a foreword by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. It features more than 500 illustrations, providing unprecedented insight into Meinerding’s creative process and his perspective on the critical collaborations behind contemporary concept and character design.

To celebrate its release on October 1st, Marvel Comics will roll out a line of new Marvel Studios variant covers throughout September and beyond. These covers will feature Meinerding’s artwork from films like Thor (2011), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Moon Knight (2022). They will adorn new issues of Avengers Assemble, Immortal Thor, Amazing Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, The Avengers, and Phases of the Moon Knight.
