No Disrespect Intended

Wiz Khalifa is offering an apology after a drug-related incident during a recent performance in Romania. The 36-year-old rapper was escorted off stage and reportedly charged with illegal drug possession for smoking marijuana on stage at the Beach, Please! Festival in the Romanian village of Costinești on Saturday.

“Last night’s show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage,” Khalifa shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. “They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time.”

In a video shared on social media, Khalifa can be seen surrounded by officials as he exits the venue.

According to a translated press release from DIICOT, Romania’s anti-organized crime prosecutors, Khalifa “possessed over 18 grams of cannabis (risk drug) and consumed (onstage) another amount of cannabis under the shape of a craft cigarette.”

The statement further notes, “We make it clear that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence.”

Khalifa’s personal life has also been making headlines as he and his girlfriend Aimee Aguilar are expecting their first child together, a baby girl. The artist already shares an 11-year-old son, Sebastian Taylor, with his ex, Amber Rose.

Though Khalifa and Aguilar have kept their relationship mostly private, they have been romantically linked for around five years. Their first public appearance together was in a photo on Aguilar’s Instagram in October 2019. Recently, the pair was spotted in matching camo outfits while out in Los Angeles.

Khalifa continues to stay active in the music scene. Last year, he released a series of mixtapes and headlined the Late Night in Palomino event at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in April.

Fans can next catch him performing at Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub in Las Vegas on Aug. 30 and 31.
