Numerous pro-Palestinian protestors detained at universities as schools enforce regulations on encampments

Students at dozens of universities in the U.S. and Canada are protesting for Palestinian human rights, demanding divestment from companies profiting from the war. While protests are allowed on campus, encampments are not. Dozens of arrests, vandalism, and disagreements between universities and protesters have been reported. Campuses like USC, MIT, Emerson College, University of Mary Washington, Northeastern University, and Columbia University have faced tense standoffs between administrators and protesting students. Arrests after setting up encampments have been reported at Arizona State University, Indiana University, and Washington University. Students support each other’s protests on various campuses.
