NYPD Arrests Numerous Columbia University Protesters: Here’s the Latest Information

The NYPD arrested dozens of protesters at Columbia University on Tuesday night after entering the campus with permission. Flash bangs were used, not tear gas, to disorient protesters in Hamilton Hall. Furniture was barricading the halls, and at least 48 people were taken into custody. After talks broke down, protesters refused to leave the encampments and forced their way into the building. University officials said students could face expulsion or suspension for their actions. Other clashes between protesters and police occurred at City College on the same day.
