Occupation of Library by Gaza Protesters Puts Portland State University President in Tricky Situation

Pro-Palestinian protesters occupied the entrance of Portland State University’s Millar Library for the third day, demanding the university cut ties with Boeing, call for a ceasefire in Gaza, and stop selling Israeli-made merchandise. University officials asked protesters to dismantle camp structures built on library steps, but the request only fueled the protest. Police were reported at the library but their activities were unclear. Similar protests are happening at other colleges across the country. In Oregon, protests are occurring at Lewis and Clark College, Reed College, and the University of Oregon. The Daily Emerald is providing live updates on the UO protests.
