Officials say that new evidence in the killing of a Georgia couple was dredged up by someone fishing with a magnet

Someone magnet fishing in a Georgia creek found a rifle and belongings of a slain couple from nine years ago. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation considers these items new evidence in the unsolved murder case. The couple, Bud and June Runion, were robbed and fatally shot in Telfair County in 2015 after driving there to buy a car. The accused, Ronnie Adrian “Jay” Towns, faced legal issues that delayed his trial. Prosecutors are now preparing for trial, aiming for August, with the new evidence strengthening the case. Investigators also searched a home in Telfair County based on evidence found in the creek.
