‘One Tree Hill’ Star Jana Kramer Marries in Scotland

One Tree Hill alum Jana Kramer and Allan Russell celebrated their union with a beautiful wedding ceremony in Scotland. They shared the exclusive details of the event with PEOPLE magazine. The couple exchanged vows on July 13 at the scenic Carnell Estate, Russell’s home country. The event was an intimate affair, attended by just 35 close family members and friends. Among the attendees were Kramer’s children, daughter Jolie, 8, and son Jace, 5, as well as Russell’s son Troy, 16, and their 8-month-old son Roman, representing their blended family.

The story of how Jana and Allan met is quite serendipitous. Russell initially reached out to Kramer through a direct message on Instagram while he was residing in England. His message struck a chord with Kramer due to its sweet and kind nature.

“He was very sweet and very kind in his message, and we started to talk on WhatsApp. And then when I Googled him, I was like, ‘Oh, he’s really cute. I was like, maybe if he happens to ever be in the States, I’ll go out on a date with him,'” Kramer told the publication.

Their first in-person meeting took place in Nashville, Tennessee around Christmastime of 2022. Kramer mentioned that she knew almost instantly that he was ‘the one,’ and the couple got engaged just six months after their first date.

During the ceremony, Kramer’s children played significant roles in making the day special. Jolie served as the flower girl, while Jace took on the role of the ring bearer. Russell’s son Troy acted as an usher, and little Roman wore a kilt, along with all the other men in the ceremony.

Initially, Kramer and Russell had considered having an extremely private ceremony, possibly even eloping. “I just knew that I wanted to marry him. We had talked about just going away and doing it ourselves, but it was important for me to have the wedding for Jolie and Jace, so they can see that we’re married now,” Kramer told PEOPLE, explaining why they opted for a traditional ceremony.

She further elaborated, “I’ve also never been so excited to walk down the aisle to someone, and it didn’t need to be this big thing. It’s going to be very small and intimate and everything that we wanted. We’re getting married in Scotland, so the background is already stunning as it is. I just want to marry him, and I want my closest friends there. That’s all that truly matters to us and our family.” Russell added that having the ceremony in Scotland was a significant gesture to honor his heritage.
