Opening Statements Begin in Trump Hush Money Trial

Trump’s attorney Emil Bove revealed that Trump’s team learned about David Pecker being the first witness at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. They would have addressed the records issue earlier if they had known Pecker was the first witness. Initially, prosecutors had refused to provide Trump’s team with a witness lineup due to concerns about Trump’s potential social media posts attacking them. However, on Friday, Joshua Steinglass agreed to inform Trump’s team of the first witness with short notice to prevent any attacks on social media.
