Pamela Anderson Joins Liam Neeson in Upcoming Reboot of “The Naked Gun”

Two iconic figures from the world of cinema are joining forces in the remake of a beloved comedy of adventures and mishaps. The film, known as The Naked Gun or And Where is the Police?, will feature Liam Neeson in the lead role. Pamela Anderson, the actress and sex symbol from the 90s, will also be part of the cast, portraying Neeson’s love interest in the film produced by Paramount Pictures.

The goal of this new version is to bring back the comedic and parodic essence that made the original franchise popular in the late 80s and early 90s.

The Naked Gun, which first came out in 1988 as a spoof of police and detective dramas, charmed audiences with its unique humor and unforgettable scenes featuring Leslie Nielsen as Frank Drebin, a bumbling but lovable detective.

Almost forty years later, Paramount is set to breathe new life into the story with a fresh cast and a creative team with extensive comedy experience. The film will be directed by Akiva Schaffer, who is also co-writing the script with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. This trio has previously collaborated on the popular Disney+ series Chip and Dale: To the Rescue.

Plot details are still under wraps, but sources indicate that Liam Neeson will take on the role of Detective Drebin, while Anderson will step into the shoes of the character originally played by Priscilla Presley in the original franchise.

In addition to Neeson and Anderson, Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are part of the production team through their company Fuzzy Door. Schaffer is credited as an executive producer along with Daniel M. Stillman.

The new version of the film, yet to be officially titled, is expected to hit theaters on July 18, 2025, according to Paramount’s release schedule.

Liam Neeson, who has been associated with the project since 2022, shared his thoughts on the challenge of recreating the humor of the original trilogy. The actor acknowledged the task ahead and humorously pondered the project’s potential impact on his career.

Anderson, known for her role in Baywatch, has also been busy with recent projects. She recently appeared in the Netflix documentary Pamela: A Love Story and the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy. The actress is set to star in Gia Coppola’s upcoming film The Last Showgirl, a drama centered around the cabaret industry in Las Vegas.
