Pete Davidson and ‘Outer Banks’ Star Madelyn Cline Reportedly Break Up

Pete Davidson is single again. The former Saturday Night Live star and actress Madelyn Cline have reportedly ended their relationship after dating for less than a year, according to The U.S. Sun.

In September 2023, sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Davidson and Cline were dating. Soon after, Cline was seen attending one of Davidson’s standup shows in Las Vegas, where they spent “a quick 24 hours” together. Their first public appearance was marked by being caught on camera heading to an SNL afterparty following Davidson’s hosting of the season 49 premiere.

Interestingly, both Davidson and Cline had just exited previous relationships when they began dating each other. Davidson had recently ended things with his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star Chase Sui Wonders, which followed his highly publicized romance with Kim Kardashian that lasted nine months. He and Wonders called it quits in August 2023. Meanwhile, Cline had dated singer Jackson Guthy in 2022 and had a brief relationship with her Outer Banks co-star Chase Stokes.

However, Davidson’s relationship with Kim Kardashian garnered the most media attention. They started dating soon after Kardashian hosted SNL in 2021, about seven months after she separated from her then-estranged husband, Kanye West—also known as Ye. Ye was openly hostile towards Davidson, even going as far as making public threats against him. Kardashian, on the other hand, appreciated Davidson for being lowkey and different from her previous partners, and they enjoyed doing ordinary activities like going to the movies and amusement parks. Davidson even appeared in a few episodes of Kardashian’s Hulu reality series, The Kardashians, and was well-received by her family.

In the season three premiere of her show, Kardashian opened up about the breakup to Scott Disick, saying, “Breakups are just not my thing… I’m proud of myself. We just had talks and talks, we had been talking about it. So it was both of us just communicating really well about it. It’s obviously sad.”

She also revealed feeling guilty about the stress Davidson endured due to Ye’s attacks. “There was a lot of guilt,” she said, “he went through a lot because of my relationship.”
