Police reportedly fired rubber bullets and tear gas during a protest at a Georgia university | US universities

Police at Emory University in Georgia conducted violent arrests at an encampment set up by students in solidarity with Palestine and against Cop City. Multiple officers used rubber bullets, tear gas, and force to remove protesters from the campus lawn. Organizers demanded divestment from Israeli apartheid and Cop City from all Atlanta colleges. The university was accused of complicity in genocide and police militarization. Effigies of babies, symbols of Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces, were displayed. Similar protests and encampments were seen at other universities across the country. Arrests and clashes with police occurred at multiple locations.
