Police stepped in after hours of violence at UCLA protest

Late on April 30, Sean Tabibian called 911 reporting violence between masked agitators and pro-Palestinian protesters at UCLA. Despite multiple calls, police did not intervene for over 3 hours, leading to injuries on both sides. Authorities had a hands-off approach, with police waiting for hours to respond. Faculty had raised concerns about violence earlier, but police did not act promptly. On May 1, police aggressively dismantled the encampment and arrested protesters. LAPD and UCLA are now investigating the incident, while concerns about police intervention and campus safety persist. Violence escalated despite repeated calls for police intervention.
