Prime Video has announced a new series titled The Greatest, which will focus on the life and legacy of the iconic boxing champion Muhammad Ali. The series is helmed by Ben Watkins, known for the Alex Cross series, and it will be executive produced by Lonnie Ali, Muhammad Ali’s widow.

The show promises to highlight not only Ali’s monumental victories and defeats in the boxing ring but also delve into his life away from the public eye. According to the series description, the narrative will center around the personal aspects of Ali’s life, exploring his roles as a man, husband, father, brother, and son.

Actor Jaalen Best has been cast to portray Ali. Best is recognized for his recurring role as Ryan Craig in All American: Homecoming. He has also appeared in American Horror Stories, Magnum P.I., and the short film, Juice.

Best took to Instagram to express his gratitude and excitement for the role. “What a complete honor and privilege it is to be playing a hero of mine, and a hero to many,” he wrote. “A deep sincere of gratitude and responsibility as I step into the shoes of a true icon.”

He extended his thanks to Ali’s family for their trust and expressed profound appreciation to the producers, writers, and everyone involved in the project. “Can’t wait to bring this story to life and share it with the world. Let’s make history!” Best added.
