Prince William and Harry Both Attend Family Member’s Funeral, Report Says

On Wednesday this week, a funeral service was held for an extended member of the royal family, Lord Robert Fellowes. The service took place at St. Mary’s Church in Norfolk, England.

Lord Fellowes once served as private secretary to Queen Elizabeth during the ’90s. He was uncle to Prince William and Prince Harry and brother-in-law to the late Princess Diana (he was married to Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Fellowes). It seems that Lord Fellowes was quite important to the royal brothers, as both were in attendance at his funeral, according to a surprise report from The Sun.

According to the report, Will and Harry arrived very discreetly (with some attendees not even noticing their presence) and sat in the back of the church, separately.

This news will come as quite the surprise to royal fans as Prince Harry was not expected to be in England and certainly not expected to attend the service. There was no report of either Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle being in attendance.

But did the brothers interact at the funeral? One funeral attendee told The Sun, “William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance.” So much for that reunion I was hoping for…

As I mentioned above, Lord Fellowes had been married to Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Fellowes (formerly Spencer). She can be seen in the photograph below with their brother, Charles Spencer, and Prince Harry at the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue at Kensington Palace back in 2021.

Lady Fellowes also made an appearance with Prince Harry recently at the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. The Invictus Games are an international sporting event for wounded and injured veterans that Harry co-founded. The Duke of Sussex traveled to England in May for the big anniversary.

So, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex may not have technically reunited, but I’m happy to see that they were able to put aside their differences to at least be in the same room for such a solemn and important family occasion.
