The Princess of Wales has extended her congratulations to tennis champion Barbora Krejcikova following her victory against Jasmine Paolini in the women’s Wimbledon finals.

On Sunday, Barbora took to social media, sharing photos of her meeting with Princess Kate and Princess Charlotte. During their conversation after the men’s finals, Princess Charlotte was seen holding Barbora’s tennis racket, clearly impressed. Barbora captioned the post, “What an honor, Your Royal Highness.”

Traditionally, Princess Kate is responsible for handing out the trophies at Wimbledon. However, due to her ongoing recovery from cancer treatment, she was unable to attend the tournament on Saturday. She chose to make her appearance on the final day instead.

It was confirmed on Saturday that Kate would be making her first public appearance since Trooping the Colour last month.

Although Kate hadn’t been able to attend the tournament until Day 14, the tennis fan sent Andy Murray a message congratulating him on his retirement after he missed out on a final match at Wimbledon.

On the official X account for the Prince and Princess of Wales, she wrote: “An incredible #Wimbledon career comes to an end. You should be so very proud @andy_murray. On behalf of all of us, thank you! C.”

The royal’s expected appearance follows her absence from her husband’s polo match, an event where he raised over £1 million for charitable causes close to his heart.

In a personal update, Kate shared that she has “good days and bad days” and mentioned that her “treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
