Prosecutors say break-in suspect left bloodied scene while ‘targeting’ Mayor Bass

The man who broke into Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ home was targeting her according to George Gascon. Ephraim Hunter, 29, forced his way into Getty House, smashing a glass door. He caused up to $10,000 in damage and left blood on doorknobs. Although initially confused, Hunter seemed to know he was in the mayor’s home. He pleaded not guilty. Police have remedied a security gap that allowed Hunter to enter the residence during a shift change. Hunter, who has a criminal record, claimed he was being chased and was under the influence. The mayor’s security detail was en route but had not arrived yet.
