Protestors supporting Palestine set up camp at UT Dallas

Pro-Palestinian protestors at the University of Texas at Dallas launched an encampment in Chess Plaza seeking a response from the administration. The group wants UTD to divest from Israel-linked companies like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. This is the first encampment at a North Texas university. After a previous sit-in, UT Dallas President Benson agreed to meet to discuss demands but talks ended abruptly. The students also want UTD to reject an executive order targeting pro-Palestinian protestors and call for a ceasefire in Gaza. As of 8 a.m., there was little police presence at the encampment.
