Protests at Columbia University and other schools intensify

Students, faculty, and staff at the University of New Mexico began protesting in support of Gaza on Monday, with a peaceful demonstration at the UNM Duck Pond. Some individuals brought tents and sleeping bags, going against school policy, and were warned of citations or arrests by campus police. The police monitored the situation, advising the removal of the tents, which eventually took place. Currently, there are around 12 people at the duck pond with banners and chairs, but no tents. The university appreciates the community for demonstrating a peaceful protest that respects freedom of expression and ensures a safe campus environment.
