Protests lead to NYPD clearing of Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall and disruptions at UCLA and UNC campuses nationwide

NYPD officers used flash-bang grenades to breach Columbia’s Hamilton Hall, where protesters had barricaded themselves inside with chairs, tables, and vending machines. The loud bang is meant to shock and disorient. Video footage shows officers searching an office and passing chairs in a stairwell. Over 50 officers climbed into the building through a window using an elevated ramp.
