Protests supporting Palestine stir up campuses; Arrests made at Cal Poly Humboldt

Police arrested 25 protesters at Cal Poly Humboldt after they occupied buildings and forced the campus to close. Pro-Palestinian protesters across California demand divestment from Israel and an end to the military actions in Gaza, setting up tent encampments at various colleges. Some faculty members gathered outside while police warned protesters to disperse. Eventually, arrests were made for charges including unlawful assembly and vandalism. Protests have escalated at universities nationwide, with demands for acknowledging suffering in Gaza. At several campuses, demands include ending violent extremism funding and academic boycotts of Israel. The situation remains tense with ongoing protests and encampments.
