Rachel Lindsay has been ordered to pay estranged husband Bryan Abasolo more than $13,000 a month in spousal support amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.

On Monday, court documents were obtained that detailed the legal separation of the 39-year-old lawyer and her 44-year-old husband, who met on The Bachelorette in 2017 and married in August 2019. Lindsay will have to make these payments until further notice.

Abasolo, who filed for divorce in January and listed their separation date as December 31, 2023, initially asked for $16,000 a month in spousal support, rather than the $9,000 Lindsay offered. New court papers have since shown the court decided on a figure in between these amounts.

“Respondent is ordered to pay to the Petitioner temporary spousal support in the sum of $13,257.00 per month, payable one-half on the first and one-half on the fifteenth of each month, commencing July 15, 2024, and continuing in a like manner until further order of the Court,” the court documents state.

The pair, who do not have any children but previously mentioned to the media that kids were “definitely coming in the future,” are set to have their next court proceeding on September 23 in Los Angeles. Lindsay will also have to cover $15,000 for Abasolo’s legal fees and an additional $5,000 for other expenses.

Earlier this month, Abasolo claimed in court that the $16,000 monthly amount he initially sought would barely cover his living costs. “After I pay monthly expenses, there is nothing left,” he stated. Lindsay quickly replied, “I am not flush with cash, as he believes me to be,” pointing out that if she paid his attorney fees totaling $75,000, she wouldn’t be able to “pay my own counsel.”

After Abasolo filed for divorce, Lindsay finally broke her silence about the separation, expressing that she was blindsided and taking it day by day. She later admitted to regretting not having a prenup in place.

“The reason I didn’t is because the place that I’m in now—financially, however you want to define it—is totally different than when I got married. We were more leveled and I wasn’t in California,” Lindsay shared during an appearance on the Hidden Gems podcast. She continued, “If I got married in California, I know California’s wild. It’s not in my favor all the time. So, it was just a different time.”

She acknowledged, “I could have never predicted that in 2024 I would be getting a divorce. You never know what life’s gonna throw at you. It’s two people coming together for one union. You should absolutely get it, and it’s not unsexy and it doesn’t mean you’re planning for divorce. It’s just smart.”

A recent statement from Lindsay echoed her feelings of surprise and reflection on the situation, which she described as something she never anticipated. Emphasizing the importance of financial prudence, she advised others to consider the future practicality of a prenup to protect both parties.
