Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman are reuniting for a new sitcom, The Happy Place, set to premiere this fall. There’s an extra treat for fans of the show Reba as JoAnna Garcia Swisher, their former co-star, expressed her eagerness to make a cameo appearance if the chance arises.

JoAnna, known for her role in Sweet Magnolias, recently shared her excitement with People, calling Reba and Melissa “just gold.” She eagerly anticipates their on-screen reunion.

“I told them the other day, I’m going to be there for the first taping, and I’m going to be the audience member that’s going to laugh at all of their jokes,” JoAnna revealed.

JoAnna and her co-stars from Reba played their roles from 2001 to 2007, and they’ve made several attempts to reboot the show. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get the concept off the ground.

In March, Melissa Peterman announced the exciting news about her and Reba starring in The Happy Place. The sitcom’s storyline revolves around Reba’s character, Bobbie, who inherits her father’s restaurant and finds out she has a half-sister, her new business partner.

JoAnna shared her fond memories of working on the set with Reba. “I know what the warmth of that set being led by Reba feels like. It’s just going to be a great experience,” JoAnna said, calling the opportunity a gift.

When asked if she would guest star on the new show, JoAnna enthusiastically replied, “Yes, they know I would do anything for them! A hundred percent, I would do the show. But more importantly, I’m just excited to go watch the show because I am really excited for all of them.” Being a part of the sitcom, she believes, is going to be a fantastic experience.

Fans can catch Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman in The Happy Place when it premieres on October 18 at 8 PM ET on NBC.
