Republican Being Investigated for Alleged Sexual Assault Against Minor

Zack Scrivner, second district supervisor of Kern County, California, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his children. Scrivner was stabbed twice in a physical altercation at his home. His attorney denied the sexual abuse allegation. Law enforcement responded to reports of a psychotic episode, not a crime. Scrivner’s school-age children were home during the incident, leading to his arrest. Scrivner and his wife separated in November, with her filing for divorce in March. Police found guns, mushrooms, and potential evidence of sexual assault in Scrivner’s home. The investigation is ongoing. Scrivner has served on the Kern County Board of Supervisors since 2010.
