RFK Jr. Claims Trump Endorsement Isn’t Motivated by Revenge

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump embraces Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after receiving his endorsement.

In a recent interview, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. clarified that his endorsement of Donald Trump is not motivated by spite towards Democrats. He expressed his intention to actively campaign for the former president, emphasizing his commitment to making America healthier.

During his appearance on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream, Kennedy stated, “I’m going to be campaigning actively.” He anticipates that Trump will soon make announcements regarding additional Democratic endorsements joining his campaign.

Kennedy has attributed his current political stance to perceived roadblocks from the Democratic Party which hindered his own presidential nomination attempt this year. He disclosed that he plans to maintain his candidacy on about 30 state ballots while withdrawing from around 10 states where he believes his presence might impact the election outcome negatively.

Despite their differences on certain issues, Kennedy expressed that he has engaged in meaningful discussions with Trump following a personal assassination attempt. This included two extensive meetings where they explored the idea of forming a unity government.

“[Trump] invited me to form a unity government, and we agreed to respect each other’s viewpoints,” Kennedy shared. He highlighted that Trump is committed to assisting him on critical issues, such as ending the war in Ukraine and combating censorship.

Kennedy emphasized that national unity is vital, saying, “We need in this country to reach a point where we love our children more than we hate each other.” This statement reflects his desire to foster a more collaborative political atmosphere.

Regarding any potential Cabinet positions or exchanges related to his endorsement, Kennedy stated that there have been no discussions in that direction with the Trump campaign.

Family dynamics also played a role in Kennedy’s statement, as he acknowledged that his relatives, who have endorsed Biden and Harris, maintain the right to their own political positions. He remarked on the importance of familial love despite differing political beliefs, emphasizing, “We all need to be able to disagree with each other and still love each other.”

When questioned about whether his endorsement stems from feelings of revenge or anger towards the Democratic Party, Kennedy firmly dismissed the notion, saying his decision was made with a rational mindset.

“In anything in my life, I don’t act out of anger or revenge or resentment. It’s a bad motivation, like swallowing poison hoping someone else will die,” he elaborated. His focus remains on pragmatic and practical motivations behind his political actions.
