‘RHOC’: Shannon Beador and John Janssen Reconciled Before DUI?

Did RHOC star Shannon Beador reconcile with her ex-boyfriend, John Janssen, before her DUI arrest? Initially, it looked like they had completely ended things when that incident occurred, but now Shannon is sharing a different story. What is really going on, and how does John’s current girlfriend, Alexis Bellino, feel about it?

Shannon Beador experienced a rocky relationship with John Janssen throughout Season 17 of RHOC. She frequently mentioned that his private nature created numerous issues, causing her significant emotional distress. Shannon often leaned on alcohol and her friends to cope. Her co-stars alleged that Shannon would call them late at night to vent, an accusation she denied. By the time of the reunion, the pair had separated, and shortly after, Shannon faced a hit-and-run DUI arrest.

Interestingly, John was seen accompanying Shannon to the doctor for her injuries following the accident. As viewers learned in the first episode of Season 18, he called her names on the night of her DUI arrest, pointing out her intoxicated state and questioning why she attempted to drive. Within two months, John began dating RHOC alum Alexis Bellino, which puzzled Shannon given John’s previous aversion to public attention. Now, Shannon claims that she and John had reconciled before her DUI.

According to People, Shannon Beador shared her perspective on the events leading up to that evening:

“For about six months, he dated someone else and I dated someone else but after that, we reconnected.”

The couple had initially ended their relationship in late 2022 after three and a half years together, ceasing all communication. Then, in March 2023, things reignited between them, though they kept it under wraps:

“Both of us told everyone, ‘No, we’re not back together,’ but we were acting like we were back together.”

Shannon admitted that she doubted the relationship would work out again, hence the secrecy:

“I think deep down, he and I both knew that it was never going to work. So, I wouldn’t say we were back together publicly, but we were together privately, for about six months.”

John Janssen disputes this account, as does his current girlfriend, Alexis Bellino, who has returned to RHOC.

John shared his version of events, indicating a different understanding of their relationship:

“Several months after our break-up, I attempted a friendship with Shannon. As we both privately agreed and publicly declared, there was never an intent to rekindle our relationship. Any suggestion that we were back together as a couple is a mischaracterization of the situation.”

In John’s view, they were simply friends. Alexis Bellino also weighed in on Instagram, suggesting that Shannon is obsessed with John. She reposted an article about the situation and accused Shannon of using John and Alexis to deflect responsibility for her arrest. Alexis disabled comments on her post.
