Richmond-area man arrested in Turks and Caicos for suspected ammunition possession, potentially facing a 12-year prison term.

A Richmond man, Tyler Scott Wenrich, was arrested in Turks and Caicos for possession of ammunition. The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force charged the 31-year-old after he brought ammunition to the British territory while on a cruise to Grand Turk. Unlike the US, Turks and Caicos has strict laws that could result in a 12-year minimum prison sentence for such offenses. Wenrich, who works at Emergency Services Solutions, Inc., is set to appear in court on June 7. This incident follows a similar situation involving a man from Oklahoma.
