Severe storms in Central Texas on Thursday caused significant damage in San Marcos and Johnson City, with reports of 5-inch hail in Johnson City. The storm led to a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Central Texas until midnight, with potential large hail, strong winds, and even a possible tornado. In San Marcos, reports included downed trees and power lines, as well as traffic light outages. Cleanup efforts were underway, with crews working to clear debris. Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra was coordinating countywide cleanup efforts. Arborist Andrew Morgan was also assisting with emergency services for storm-related damage.
