Scarlett Johansson: Daughter Rose, 9, ‘Too Scared’ to Watch Avengers Movies

Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel character Natasha Romanov has legions of fans worldwide, but her daughter Rose isn’t one of them. The actress, currently starring with Channing Tatum in “Fly Me to the Moon,” revealed that her nine-year-old finds the Avengers movies and Black Widow too scary to watch.

Johansson, in a recent interview, mentioned, “She likes that I play Black Widow, but she’s too scared to watch an Avengers movie.” She added, “She’s just like, ‘It’s violent.’ I’m like, ‘Oh God.'”

The Oscar nominee shares her daughter with her former husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac. Rose, however, seems to be okay with Johansson’s most recent role in the movie “Fly Me to the Moon,” where she portrays a con artist turned marketing genius who helps stage a fake moon landing for the government in 1969.

The actress noted, “I think she’s excited about the hair and makeup mostly. It’s just so fun… She’s girly.”

When viewers catch the film that opened on July 11, they’ll spot a cameo by Johansson’s husband, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost, 42. According to the Marvel star, Greg Berlanti, the film’s director, was keen on having Jost make a cameo. “Greg and Colin have a great rapport. They are both comedy writers and share a bit of a similar personality,” she explained.

The couple, who are proud parents of a two-year-old son, Cosmo, didn’t plan on working together for this project. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m sure if you ask him, I’m not going to ask him,'” Johansson shared.

Interestingly, Johansson and Jost seldom collaborate professionally. Despite Johansson being a frequent guest on SNL, she mentioned, “We don’t get to work together really ever. I mean, he’s written stuff for me for SNL, but we never get to perform together.”

Aside from her acting projects, Johansson has also been working on her first full-length feature as a director. Her directorial debut, “Eleanor the Great,” delves into the unique friendship between a 90-year-old woman named Eleanor and her new 19-year-old friend.
