A grand jury in Arizona has indicted former President Donald Trump’s allies for their efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss. The indictment includes fake electors from Arizona and individuals connected to Trump’s campaign. Among those indicted are Boris Epshteyn, Mark Meadows, and Rudy Giuliani. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the indictment, focusing on 11 individuals who acted as pro-Trump electors. The indictment includes charges of conspiracy and forgery. Trump is not charged in Arizona but is identified as “Unindicted Coconspirator 1” in the indictment. The case adds scrutiny to actions taken on Trump’s behalf post-election and allegations of election interference. Other individuals charged in the Arizona indictment include Trump allies Mike Roman, Jenna Ellis, and John Eastman. Eastman’s attorney has stated his client is innocent. The Arizona case is part of state-level prosecutions aimed at schemes to overturn Biden’s electoral victory.
