Shannen Doherty’s Last Instagram Post Is Truly Heartbreaking Now

Shannen Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015. Initially, she kept the diagnosis private. However, in August 2015, she went public after TMZ reported that she had filed a lawsuit against her business manager for failing to pay her insurance premiums. Doherty argued that this oversight delayed her breast cancer diagnosis because she did not seek medical care while uninsured. “Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment,” Doherty told People. “I am continuing to eat right, exercise, and stay very positive about my life. I am thankful to my family, friends, and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me.”

After revealing her diagnosis, Doherty was open about her health status and the challenges she faced. In May 2016, she underwent a mastectomy. Unfortunately, the cancer spread, leading her to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. By April 2017, Doherty shared the news that she was officially in remission. “Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment,” she wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing what the term “remission” meant to her.

However, the celebration was short-lived. In February 2020, a representative confirmed that Doherty’s cancer had returned and progressed to stage 4. “I don’t think I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways,” she said during an interview on “Good Morning America.”
