Shannen Doherty’s Last Podcast Episode and Social Media Update

Shannen Doherty’s final podcast episode and social media post have left fans deeply emotional.

Following the announcement of the Beverly Hills 90210 star’s passing on Saturday, July 13, fans revisited her last Instagram post shared on June 26, just weeks before her death. The video, from one of her iHeartRadio podcast episodes, featured Doherty speaking openly about her Stage 4 cancer diagnosis and prognosis.

“I have no idea how long I’m going to be on the chemo for,” Doherty began, referring to her breast cancer treatment. “I have no idea if it’s going to be three months, or if it’s going to be six months or if after three months it’s not working if we’re going to change again. Like, I don’t, really. That’s not something that I can predict, it’s not something my doctors can predict, and it’s scary. It’s like a big wake-up call.”

Despite the uncertainty, she noted a glimmer of hope due to recent changes in the molecular structure of her cancer cells.

“It means that there’s a lot more protocols for me to try. So, you know, for the first time in a couple of months probably, I feel hopeful,” she said. “Because there are so many more protocols now, whereas before I was hopeful, but I was still getting prepared.”

The comments section of that post saw tributes from celebrities like Kristin Chenoweth and Rose McGowan. Fans also expressed how much Doherty meant to them, both as an actor and as a relatable figure for other cancer patients.

Doherty’s final episode of her podcast Let’s Be Clear With Shannen Doherty aired before her death. Titled “Let’s Break The Big News… With Holly Marie Combs,” it was published on July 8 but was not shared on her Instagram platform.

During the interview, Doherty and guest Holly Marie Combs discussed Combs’ mother moving in with her and decorating their home with Charmed memorabilia. They also talked about how meaningful it was to meet fans at conventions and witness the impact their work had on people. The conversation grew emotional, with both actors tearing up. Post-recording, they enjoyed pizza and re-watched episodes of their show together.
