Five people, including three police officers, were injured in a shooting in Kenner, La. The suspect, Matthew Lathers, had an outstanding warrant for attempted murder and armed robbery. A standoff ensued, with SWAT teams exchanging fire with Lathers. Negotiations failed, resulting in Lathers being shot and killed by a sheriff’s department sniper. Two officers have been released from the hospital, while the other victims are in stable condition. The incident occurred at a suburban New Orleans home on Sunday morning.
