Sissy Spacek, Nick Nolte Join Lynne Ramsay’s ‘Die, My Love’

EXCLUSIVE : Oscar winner Sissy Spacek (Carrie) and three-time Oscar nominee Nick Nolte (The Thin Red Line) have been tapped for roles in Die, My Love, Lynne Ramsay’s thriller based on the 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz.

Details regarding their roles are still under wraps. This project reunites Spacek and Nolte following their collaboration on Affliction, the 1997 crime drama written and directed by Paul Schrader. As previously announced, the film will also star Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson, and LaKeith Stanfield.

Set in a remote forgotten rural area, the story follows a mother (Lawrence) who struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis. Pattinson will be playing her husband and Stanfield, her lover.

Ramsay is directing from her script written with Enda Walsh. Producers on the project include Justine Ciarrocchi and Lawrence on behalf of Excellent Cadaver, as well as Martin Scorsese and Andrea Calderwell. Black Label Media is financing.

Known for her work in such classic films as In the Bedroom, Coal Miner’s Daughter, and Carrie, Spacek has been busiest on television recently, starring in Prime Video’s Night Sky, the first season of Prime Video’s Homecoming, Hulu’s Castle Rock, and Netflix’s Bloodline. Most recently, she appeared in films like romantic dramedy Sam & Kate and David Lowery’s The Old Man & the Gun opposite Robert Redford. She’ll next be seen recurring on FX’s limited series Dying for Sex.

Nolte’s sprawling resume includes roles in acclaimed films like Warrior, Hotel Rwanda, The Thin Red Line, The Player, Cape Fear, Under Fire, and 48 Hrs, among many others. In television, he’s most recently starred in Epix’s comedy Graves, and taken on roles in shows like Poker Face and The Mandalorian. Upcoming projects include the indie drama Rittenhouse Square and Ed Harris’s The Ploughmen.

Spacek is represented by UTA, Mgmt Entertainment, and Rowan & Maron. Nolte is represented by CAA, Tavistock Wood Management, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
